A few years ago, laser cutters could cut aluminum sheets. I remember that the workers painted ink on the aluminum plate at that time (it is said that the aluminum plate has a high reflection coefficient and is afraid of reflecting the laser). Furthermore, the laser parameters are difficult to tune. At that time, only 1mm thick aluminum plate could be cut. After accumulating experience, the aluminum plate cutting is very smooth and there is no slag inclusion.
The laser cutting machine cutting aluminum plate also depends on the power of the laser generator. Thickness 6000W can be cut 16mm, 4500W can be cut 12mm. But the processing cost is high because it is a highly reflective material. Laser cutting is to irradiate the workpiece with a focused laser beam of high power density, so that the irradiated material rapidly melts, vaporizes, ablates or reaches the ignition point. At the same time, with the help of the coaxial laser beam, the high-speed airflow blows away the molten material, thereby realizing the cutting of the workpiece.
Is the cut surface of laser cut aluminum sheet as smooth as other materials?
The notch of the aluminum plate is also smooth. Aluminum plate is just a highly reflective material that requires a large laser generator and cutting gas. As with other materials, cutting with nitrogen will not cause a rough surface.
